What dog registries does BKCP accept?
BKCP currently accepts the transfer of registration from the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC), American Dog Breeders Associaion (ADBA), United Kennel Club (UKC) and more (pls. inquire). For the Exotic Bully breed, BKCP accepts all registries.
Is there any bloodline restrictions?
There are no bloodline restrictions. The American Bully and Exotic Bully are still very young breeds that are still developing. However, if the dog being registered does not pass the criteria for inspection, BKCP may suggest the correct breed to be registered or refuse to register the dog.
Does BKCP accept Single Registration?
Yes. We accept AKCUPI single registration for American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) and Exotic bully (must be at least 1 year old) only. We do NOT accept single registration for other breeds even if either of the sire or dam is registered with the approved registries.
If the sire of my puppy is an Exotic Bully and the dam is an American Bully, can I register it as an American Bully?
No. It will be registered as an Exotic Bully even if it looks like an American Bully.
If the papers of my bully is Exotic but it looks like an American Bully, which class can I enter my dog in the show ring?
Unfortunately, your dog would not be allowed to participate in either class because as a registered Exotic Bully, it must have the traits and characteristics of the breed..
Can I join the dog show even if I am not registered with AKCUPI?
Starting January 2020, all dogs entering AKCUPI sanctioned shows must have an AKCUPI registration to be eligible to enter the competition and earn points.
If I already have a buyer for my puppy, can I directly transfer ownership to the buyer when I apply for Litter Registration?
Yes. You will need to pay the Litter Registration fee then write down the AKCUPI number of the buyer on the Litter Registration form when you apply. The buyer's name will appear on the Pedigree Certificate when it is released. Any puppy that has not been sold will have the breeder's name as the owner on the Pedigree Certificate. Late registration (over 1 year old) fee is P500/dog.
Why do I need to send videos/photos of the litter and my dog?
Serious breeders take videos/photos of their new puppies from the time they were born to observe their development. You can request videos/photos from the breeder/seller. Aside from comparing videos/photos for identification of the dog, the digital record or data of when videos/photos were taken will serve as proof of authenticity. This is being done for the protection of the buyer and seller, and for the integrity of the breed.
Why do I have to wait until my puppies are at least 12 weeks old before I can apply for Litter Registration?
It is no secret that the American Bully is being constantly mixed by irresponsible breeders. At 12 weeks or 3 months old, the puppy would have more prominent features that would show if the puppy has any deformities, dwarfism, or any form of abnormality. BKCP reserves the right to deny the application and refuse to process dogs that does not meet its criteria.
I have not transferred the Pedigree Certificate to my name but I already sold my dog, how can my buyer register the dog under his name?
You will need to download the Supplemental-Transfer from. This is necessary when a dog is being transferred from the original owner to a third party. This form has to be signed by the second party transferring the dog to a third party and submitted together with the dog’s original pedigree complete with signatures.
Does AKCUPI have express service?
Yes. For a minimal fee, AKCUPI provides this service if you want to get your pedigree papers on the same day, usually while you wait.
